David S. Berro

After graduating from California Maritime Academy in 1997 with a USCG 3rd Assistant Engineer’s license and a B.S. in Marine Engineering Technology, Dave accepted an officer’s commission in the US Navy. Dave is currently a Lt. Commander in the Naval Reserve and has been an aviator in the active and reserve forces since he earned his wings in 1999.

In his naval career Dave has piloted SH-60B helicopters, C-130T Hercules and C-9B Skytrain II transport aircraft, and been a Primary Flight Instructor in the T-34C Turbomentor. As an officer, he gained extensive project management experience, especially in his billet as squadron quality assurance officer where he managed aircraft maintenance and cleared all squadron aircraft for flight.

While on active duty Dave earned the Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Naval Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Navy Unit Commendation.

In 2006 Dave accepted a reserve commission and began a career in marine technical sales with Alfa Tec Inc., supporting naval architects, port engineers, and vessel purchasing agents with equipment specification and procurement. Over the years, Dave’s sales portfolio grew to include several industrial equipment manufacturers with an emphasis on energy management and marine auxiliary equipment.

In late 2013, returning from a naval active duty commitment, Dave joined Vronay Engineering Services as Chief of Business Development combining his experiences in industrial equipment specification, energy management, quality assurance, customer service and leadership, with the technical skills of the Vronay Engineering team.
